Irene is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who lived in Bangladesh for five years before moving to the United States. Irene grew up in Koreatown in Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at California State University, followed by her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Mount Saint Mary’s University. Since 2019, Irene has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and older adults. Irene is both CPI and BPD certified and is trained in Motivational Interviewing and Seeking Safety. She particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults with issues such as disordered eating, body image, anxiety, and depression and those struggling with transitional stages of life. Irene hopes that she can help her clients develop insight, a sense of hope, and the skills needed to improve their quality of life. Irene draws upon various approaches to help her clients achieve their goals and suit their unique needs. Still, she primarily focuses on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as family systems and person-centered theories. In her spare time, Irene enjoys unwinding in nature and spending time with her family and friends.
